App Friday: Showcasing the Fusion Lifecycle Training App

Happy App Friday, fellow Fusion Lifecycle enthusiasts! Today’s feature App I’m showcasing is new to the Fusion Lifecycle App Store: the Training App. This App, like several others, is a single yet powerful Fusion Lifecycle Workspace designed to allow you to create, track, monitor and manage employee training records in real-time with a single system that includes direct access to controlled documents and procedures.

First step:

Go to the Administration menu in Fusion Lifecycle and select App Store. Browse and look for the Training App (note the NEW bold text for new Workspaces). Select it, and check out the synopsis and sample images. Next, click Install to begin the process.

The install screen highlights what you will get upon installing: Workspace name, Scripts, Roles, Picklists, etc. Click the Install button again to proceed.

Once complete, you will be redirected to the Workspace Manager. Have a look at the Training Workspace, the Item Details tab, the Workflow, and so on. But don’t forget to enable your Group to see the Role. Go to the Admin Group you’re part of, and add the Training [R/W] Role. This is preset with all necessary tabs and Permissions enabled (of course you can configure others later…)


Head back to the Fusion Lifecycle Dashboard. Click your browser’s refresh/reload button, and look for the Training Workspace in the Main Menu. Click to create a new record. (You can optionally configure this Workspace to directly link training requirements to product and documentation changes. Do this from the Workspace Manager, I suggest using a Workspace driven picklist). Below is a sample record:

Fill in the data for Trainee, Trainer, Dates, etc. and click Save. Now, there are several tabs enabled to capture additional info. For instance, the Tasks tab (Grid tab) is ideal for capturing training tasks with completion dates, and ensure timeliness with actions for the trainee.

Milestones for the training are automatically created on record creation, with preset and adjustable due dates.

Finally, the approval process. Comments during Workflow transitions are enabled and required for both Trainee and Trainer for compliance. Digital signature can optionally be enabled for both Trainee and Trainer signoff.
